As the world is adapting to the new normal of social distancing, and finding new ways to move forward in the unprecedented time of COVID-19, the International System Safety Society hopes that our members are doing well. We realize that it is challenging to navigate this situation and want to do our part to provide resources that could be helpful to you. Please find some links below for useful information to help guide you through these times.

We are sad that we will not be able to see each other face to face at our normal Conference, but we recognize that the health and safety of everyone is more important. We want to continue to support our members and the System Safety profession, so we are working with our management company Ewald to make the transition to a virtual conference. We are using this unique scenario as an opportunity to grow and adapt as a society. We want to continue pushing forward with our society initiatives so that we can better serve our members. As a reminder the initiatives that the EC are working towards are:

  • Creating a System Safety credentialing program
  • Develop relationships with hiring companies to help assure that highly qualified professionals are aware of and able to apply to open jobs
  • Partner with academia to guide new engineers and program managers with specific training on how to engage with system safety practitioners and help make products and services safer
  • Provide our chapters access to a growing library of content to help foster proficiency and insight
  • Develop a mentor/mentee program to help the transition the knowledge of our key members to the next generation of safety professionals

Unfortunately, those initiatives cost money, and with changes to our conference, which has historically been our largest income generator, this year may prove to be a struggle to meet our business plan. Please If you would like to support the ISSS by either via volunteering to support these initiatives and , or financially via the button below. The the society is would be very appreciative of your contributions, and as . The society is a 501(c)(6) non-profit organization we recognize members make us successful. We understand that this pandemic has resulted in the loss of jobs or anticipated income for some, and are not looking to overstress those who cannot afford it and our hearts are with you.

Amid this time of isolation and social distancing we hope that we can continue to be a stable resource to our members by providing better and more accessible content. Together we will get through this!
